Think vineyard and the word ‘grapes’ is the first thing to spring to mind. Closely followed by ‘bottles’, ‘vats’ and ‘vines’.
But Brockenhurst’s Setley Ridge Vineyard is much more than that. Visit Rosie Lea’s Tearoom onsite to enjoy some delicious homemade fayre, sumptuous afternoon teas, lunches and – of course – wine from the vineyard. There’s also a local farm shop and garden centre.
Owner Paul Girling bought the vineyard in 1999, opening it in 2001. Together with wife, Hayley. they grow the grapes in the vineyard, make the wine and bottle all on site. By being sensitive to the environment in which they work, the team are rewarded with a rich diversity of flora and fauna to enjoy and appreciate.
Along with their award-winning five wines, they’ll be showcasing everything Setley Ridge has to offer as part of the New Forest Food & Drink Festival.
On Monday October 31, the Rosie Lea Kitchen at Setley Ridge Vineyard is hosting a three-course ‘Tastes of the New Forest’ dinner followed by a talk about a year in the life of a vineyard.
