Sitting on the banks of the Beaulieu River, The Master Builder’s House Hotel has to be the perfect spot for a lunchtime celebration of the fabulous fish and seafood that the New Forest coastline has to offer.
A glass of fizz on arrival will be followed by a five-course Forest Fish and Fruits of our Seas themed lunch.
Oyster bar with a selection of vinaigrettes
Seared scallops, cucumber gazpacho, langoustine croquette
Wild sea bass, braised winter vegetables, char-grilled squid
Apple mille feuille, apple sorbet, apple crisps
Freshly brewed coffee & homemade petit fours
With beautiful views over the Beaulieu River and set at the end of the grassy street that is Buckler’s Hard village, it is difficult to imagine a more picturesque setting for a hotel.
The Master Builder’s is located on Lord Montagu’s Beaulieu Estate in the New Forest National Park and just a few minutes’ drive from Beaulieu Palace House and the National Motor Museum.
Steeped in history, it is the house that the master builder of Nelson’s ships lived in when he oversaw the building of his ships at Bucklers Hard.
The Master Builder’s sums up its offering simply: “Fresh seasonal food, good quality wine and ales and good company.” Choose to enjoy a seasonal small plate with a newspaper and a pint of Ringwood Best in the Yachtsman’s Bar & Garden. Or indulge in a sumptuous three-course meal in their AA Rosette Riverview Restaurant.
Why not stay for a few days over Festival Week?
The Master Builder’s has Chic and Luxury Rooms in the main house, beautifully and individually created by the well-known interior designer Christine Boswell, and Classic and our newly refurbished Posh Classic Rooms in the Henry Adams wing.
The Celebration of Fish and Seafood at The Master Builder’s lunch is being held on Friday 4 November and costs £35 per person. For more information and to book, visit our Forest Fish & Fruits of our Sea theme page.
